eSIM troubleshooting
Fix common eSIM problems: installation errors, no signal or no data after arrival, and what to check before contacting support.
Most eSIM problems are solved by changing a setting or two. Work through the section that matches your situation.
The eSIM will not install
Connect to a stable Wi-Fi network and try again.
Check that your phone supports eSIM and is unlocked: see Is my phone eSIM compatible?
If you typed the details manually, compare the SM-DP+ address and the activation code with the originals, character by character.
Restart the phone and try once more. If a message says the code has already been used, stop retrying and contact support.
No signal after you arrive
Make sure the travel eSIM line is turned on.
Turn on data roaming for the travel eSIM.
Switch airplane mode on and off, or restart the phone, so that it searches for networks again.
If it still finds no network, choose one manually in the mobile network settings.
Signal, but no internet
Check that the travel eSIM is selected for mobile data.
Check that the plan is still valid and has data left.
Some plans need an access point (APN) setting. If your plan details list one, enter it in the eSIM's mobile network settings.
Do not delete the eSIM
Removing an eSIM usually cannot be undone, and most eSIMs cannot be installed a second time. To pause it, turn the line off instead of deleting it.
Contact support
If nothing helps, contact support with your phone model, the country you are in and what you see on the screen. Never share your activation code in public places such as social media.
