Frequently asked questions
What is a virtual number for SMS verification?
It is a real mobile number you use for a short activation window to receive a one-time verification code, for example when an app asks you to confirm a phone number at sign-up. It is meant for receiving that code, not for calls or long-term use.
When am I charged?
When you buy a number, its price is held from your wallet balance. The hold is charged only after an SMS has arrived. If you cancel before a code arrives, or the number expires without one, the hold is released and you pay nothing.
How long can I use the number?
Only during its activation window, shown on the number’s page. Afterwards the number can be issued to someone else, so never use it for account recovery or two-factor authentication.
What if my code doesn't arrive?
Some platforms block or slow down certain numbers, and delivery varies by country. The success rate next to each country shows how often recent numbers received an SMS. If nothing arrives, cancel and try another country: you are not charged for a number that received no SMS.
Why do prices differ between countries?
Prices follow availability and demand for each service and country and are refreshed continuously. The price you see is the price you pay; if it changes while you are buying, we show the new price and ask you to confirm it.
How does “Pick the best for me” choose a country?
It weighs recent delivery success, price and the numbers in stock for the service you chose, and only recommends countries with a proven success rate and enough numbers available.
Who can see the codes I receive?
Codes are shown only in your signed-in account, on the page of that number. We never publish received messages.
