About Telegram verification
Telegram accounts are built around a phone number: when you sign up, Telegram texts a login code that proves you control the number. Enter the number exactly as shown, including the country code, and request the code immediately — Telegram codes are short-lived, and asking for a new one replaces the previous code.
Telegram keeps using the phone number to sign you in on new devices, so protect the account before you rely on it: set a Two-Step Verification password with a recovery email and keep at least one device logged in. A verification number cannot receive codes after its activation ends, so it is not a recovery option. Spam and mass messaging break Telegram's Terms of Service and lead to restrictions whatever number you use.

Telegram says the code was sent to another device. What now?
That means the number is already registered to an existing Telegram account. Do not try to sign in to it — cancel the number before any SMS arrives and get a fresh one.
Will I be able to log in again later?
Yes, through any device that is still signed in, together with your Two-Step Verification password. Set both up right after registering, because new login codes may go to the original number.
Why is Telegram asking for an email address?
Telegram sometimes asks new accounts to set up a login email. It is a separate step from the SMS code — use an email address you control.
